This TaylorMade Tour Burner Fairway Wood is the easiest 3 wood I ever hit. I am a 8 handicapper using a stiff graphite shaft in this club. With a shallow face, the ball goes high, straight and long. I recommend this club for all handicappers.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE WOODS. Started off my game driving with 3-wood till I started hitting my driver straight a few years ago- NOW I cant put this TaylorMade R9 Fairway Wood down.

This R9 Fairway Wood owns a very solid feel, much more weighted than previous 300 series steel head. I used to snap hook the much lighter low kick point shafts on the 300 series steel heads and hit the ball too high at times. The mid kick on these shafts keep the ball lower, with a more penetrating ball flight and more roll.

I've always had a problem with the 3 wood and havn't had one that I trust in a long time. I recently upgraded my driver to an R9 460 TP and really like it. I found this R9 Fairway Wood marked down as a trade-in and decided to give it a try. I had two questions heading to the range, being a strong 3 will I be able to get it up in the air, and can I find a setting with the FCT that works for me? I am pleased to report the answer to both questions is yes. The 13* launches a little higher and much longer than my TM V-Steel 15*, and set one click to the left I'm hitting it very straight and consistent. I was prepared to reshaft if necessary but am pleased with the Fujikura Motore 70 S that came in the club.
